Itinerary

Our team will welcome you at Paro and drive you to Thimpu.

Distance 60 km; Drive time: Roughly 1.5 hours.

Optional: For the adventure loving folks, we can provide mountain bikes which you can use to ride to Thimpu. The vehicle will follow you during the ride.

Remaining day at leisure

Overnight Thimpu

Option 1: Explore the capital city Thimpu and visit important cultural and historic places there

Option 2: Trek to Tangu and Cherri monastery. For this trek, you will be driven about 25Kms outside Thimpu and from there you will trek to the monasteries which are in opposite direction in the middle of a forest

Evening: special masked dances performance for your group

Overnight Thimpu

Morning drive to Punakha. En route, stopover at Dochu-la pass and enjoy the splendid views from the pass. Visit Chime Lakhang in the afternoon.

Overnight at Punakha

Total distance: 150 km

Post breakfast, visit the Punakha Dzong. After visiting the Punakha Dzong, drive to Paro.

En route visit the Iron bridge builder’s monastery.

Time permitting, visit the Paro Dzong and Museum in the afternoon

Overnight at Paro

Start early with a packed breakfast and visit Kyichu Lakhang. Then drive along the Paro river to the base of the Takgsang Lakhang trek. The trek to the monastery crosses a beautiful rhododendron forest which has a lot of bird species in it. While trekking back, stopover at the cafeteria for lunch (The cafeteria serves only vegetarian food).

Post the trek, visit Drugyal Dzong (the ruined fortress)

Overnight at Paro

Our team will drop you to the airport for your onward flight.
