As with most startups, you go through constant change and attempt to innovate and try out new things. So one fine day, the GoMissing think tank sat ourselves down (quite a task knowing how everyone around here has a spring attached to their feet) and decided to try out something different.

We decided to head into completely uncharted territory and head into a little village called Supi in Uttaranchal. The village has absolutely no tourism infrastructure and has no “tourist attractions”. However this is just what we were looking for and a friend was kind enough to provide all the information and tell us about it in the first place.

Getting there – we’re not really sure, but we plan to improvise on this one! We’ll take the train from Delhi to Kathgodam, and figure it out from there!

Stay – We’re planning to stay with a village family in the Supi and are planning to live the lives of the villagers for the weekend. While a weekend is nowhere close to what we need to really understand the true lifestyle and culture, we’re hoping that enough repeat visits will help us “find ourselves”.

What we’re expecting – fresh mountain air, spring time flowers blooming all over the slopes. We’re hoping to witness the bloom of rhododendrons, peaches, apricots, apple flowers and a whole bunch of other flowering trees and plants. While spring is the perfect time for those lovely nature shots with crisp blue skies and green slopes, it is also the time when mountain birds sing their sweet melodies on flowering trees while they flutter from tree to tree in their courtship rituals.

Food – Another thing our friend promises is amazing food. Vegetables picked from the terraced farms by the village, cooked over an open fireplace, in fresh springs and river water from the mountains.

So all in all, what we expect is some great photography, bird watching and some lovely nature hikes exploring the forests by the village. Lets see how this turns out!
