The Pushkar lake, which is considered to be the most holy spot in the city, has almost dried up. There are about 1000 temples in Pushkar, but according to the locals, prayers are offered only at the lake.
Unfortunately, this is what it looks like now.
Small pools have been created all around at the ghats for prayers and the holy dip.

Locals are now hoping for a good monsoon next season so that the lake fills up. It does seem that the drying up of the lake has reduced the number of tourists at the mela this year.
