See millions of rare flowers including the Blue Poppy and Cobra Lily bloom amongst thousands of herbs and plants endemic to the area. Our ace naturalist who will be accompanying you on the trip will point these flowers out to you and explain their characteristics & significance in this incredible ecosystem.
The region is also home to some extremely rare and endangered species of animals like the Snow leopard, Asiatic black bear and the Blue sheep.
Valley of flowers was declared a national park in 1982 and is now a world heritage site. Every few days, in the months of July and August, the valley changes color. It takes after the predominant color of the flowers growing in the valley. The legend goes that the valley is inhabited by fairies, and why not, a place of such astounding beauty has to be the abode of fairies!
Join us as we seek out the elusive fairies and endangered species through the forested slopes, wander amongst the snow covered mountains and drink nectar off numerous waterfalls in the valley.

Itinerary
After arrival at Haridwar, you’ll be driven to Govindghat by jeep.
Distance: 300 km approx
Drive time: 10 hours
Overnight at Govindghat/ Joshimath
The trek starts from Govindghat and goes to Ghangaria which is 13 km away (first 10 km is moderate, last 3 km is steep uphill). Enjoy the trail as it goes by the river and take loads of pictures en route.
Overnight at Ghangaria –campsite
Today you will trek to the valley of flowers to witness the bloom in the valley. The valley starts about 3 km from Ghangaria and you get to spend the better part of the day in the valley.

The trek to Hemkund Sahib gurudwara which is a Sikh holy temple. Hemkund Sahib at around 4,329 meters is the highest Gurudwara in the world, nestled amongst snowy mountains. Today’s climb of about 6 km is steep at places and will take about 4 hours.
Return trek to Ghangaria will take 2-3 hours as it is mostly downhill.
Overnight at Ghangaria –campsite
You will trek from Ghangaria to Govindghat– the predominantly downhill trek will take approx 3 hours.
From Govindghat, you will be driven to Badrinath
Overnight at a guest house in Badrinath
Badrinath to Haridwar by jeep – Arrive by evening. Take the overnight train back to Delhi.

Be prepared for
- 5-6 hours of trekking each day
- You must be ready to trek in the rains, as July and August are rainy months. The valley is in full bloom during this time
- Unexpected weather conditions and patterns. In case of any unexpected weather, we might need to turn back
- In case of landslides or unexpected circumstances, there may be a change in the itinerary and a consequent rise in costs (this will be on actual)

- Moderate grade trek, beginners can do the trek. You need to have good fitness levels to walk for given durations and distances
